Azle Hornet starting pitcher Reece Denham pitched three innings against Saginaw giving up no earned runs.

The Azle Hornets baseball team had a busy week, highlighted by a big district win on the road against Saginaw before closing the week with two losses.

On Tuesday night, March 24 the Hornets traveled to Saginaw and defeated the Rough Riders 10-2 behind a strong pitching performance from Martin Balderas. Balderas threw a complete game four-hitter and recorded eight strikeouts to earn the win on the mound.

Azle’s offense was productive throughout the night. Tyler Hicks and Tyler Couch led the Hornets at the plate with three hits each. Garin Bissonnette, Nolan Meitz and Kaden Haas added two hits apiece, while Colten Fox and Hayden Harrison each recorded one hit in the win.
