The Hornet track and field program, including varsity and junior varsity boys and girls teams, competed Thursday, March 26 at the POJO Relays held at Porcupine Stadium in Springtown.
Azle freshman standout Jazmin Neri continued her impressive season, winning the gold medal in the girls 3200-meter run with a time of 11:48.8. Neri remains undefeated in the 3200-meter run this season.
Fellow freshman Addison Horner placed fifth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 62.12, and the Lady Hornets’ 4x400-meter relay team finished fourth with a time of 4:18.04. State champion wrestler Elly Yelle placed fourth in the shot put, while Tatyana Gibson finished fifth in the event.
