The Cottage looked like a scene straight out of the children’s television show, “The Big Comfy Couch” March 24 when Legacy Oaks of Azle resident Susan Mayberry showed fellow residents what it truly means to “clown around.”
Mayberry — who spent more than 25 years as a clown in Virginia nursing homes — recently approached staff about bringing her clown persona out of retirement for a special performance in The Cottage, the memory care section of Legacy Oaks.
Of course, staff couldn’t help but say yes.
