The Lady Hornet golf team competed in the District 5-5A tournament Wednesday and Thursday, April 1-2 at Cross Timbers Golf Course.
Juniors Cailyn Coleman and Taylor Merrill led the Lady Hornets after the first round, each shooting a 101 over the opening 18 holes. Haleigh Ann House, Brooklyn Sharp and Kayla Eversole rounded out the Azle team lineup. Senior Dakota Donaldson competed as the Lady Hornets’ individual medalist.
In the second round of the district tournament, perennial golf powers Aledo and Granbury captured the top team spots to advance to the regional tournament at LakeRidge Country Club in Lubbock.
