Hornets take third in district golf tournament
Senior Tyler Diffie won the silver medal at the District 5-5A tournament.

The Hornet boys golf team earned a spot on the medal stand with a third-place finish at the District 5-5A Golf Tournament March 30-31 at Cross Timbers Golf Course in Azle.

Competing in a strong district field, Aledo finished first overall and Granbury placed second, while Azle’s Green team secured third place. The Hornet Green team consisted of seniors Tyler Diffie and Derrek Vowell, along with juniors Knox Remley, Grayson Blair and Brady Young.

Diffie led the Hornets with a second-place individual finish, qualifying for the regional tournament later this month. Diffie shot a two-day total of 154. Aledo’s Braden Stokes won the district title with a two-day total of 144, finishing one stroke under par for the 36-hole tournament.
