Strong performances highlight Donnie Ostermann Hornet Relays

Azle Track and Field hosted the Donnie Ostermann Hornet Relays April 2 at Hornet Stadium, using the meet as a final tune-up before the district 5-5A Track and Field Championships scheduled for April 9-10 at Aledo High School.

Several Lady Hornets turned in strong performances at the meet. Freshman Jazmin Neri won the 1,600-meter run, Tatum Bozeman captured first place in the 300-meter hurdles, and Tatyanna Gibson finished first in the shot put.

Other notable finishes for the Lady Hornets included Ella Swain who placed second in the 100-meter dash, while Nicole Johnson finished fourth in the same event. Addison Horner placed fourth in the 400-meter dash, and Savannah Swint was fourth in the 100-meter hurdles. The Lady Hornets’ 4x100-meter relay team finished fourth, while the 4x400-meter relay team placed third. Senior Addison Van Hooser finished fourth in the varsity girls high jump, and junior Elle Yelle placed fourth in the discus.
