Kayla Scott, a 2008 graduate of Azle High School, continues to make her mark in college athletics as the director of basketball operations at West Virginia University.
Scott recently completed her third season with the Mountaineers, helping guide the program through one of its most successful years in school history. West Virginia finished second in the regular season standings before capturing the Big 12 Tournament championship. The Mountaineers earned a No. 4 seed in the NCAA Tournament, hosting the first two rounds. They defeated Miami University in Oxford, Ohio in the opening round before falling to Kentucky by one point in the second round, closing the season with a 28-7 record.
A lifelong Azle resident, Scott attended Azle ISD from kindergarten through graduation, including time at Silver Creek Elementary, The Rock School, Azle Junior High and Azle High School. Her parents, Jack and Suzie Scott, still reside in Azle and remain active in the community.
