Neri joins inaugural Weatherford College distance program
Lady Hornet Cena Neri runs the two-mile at the POJO relays.

Azle High School senior Azucena “Cena” Neri will be part of history this fall as a member of the inaugural women’s cross country and track program at Weatherford College.

Weatherford College will launch a women’s-only distance-based program in fall 2026, and Neri is among the first signees for the new team under head coach James Majenge.

Neri, a four-year member of the Lady Hornets’ cross country and track programs, advanced to the regional meet during both her junior and senior seasons, establishing herself as one of Azle’s top distance runners.
