Donkey Basketball returns April 23
A fun-filled night of Donkey Basketball returns to the Azle High School Fine Arts Gym at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 23.
Featuring 90 minutes of entertainment among three games, Azle Independent School District staff will play basketball with real donkeys. All proceeds will benefit Azle High School Project Graduation 2026.

Music in the Park kickoff set April 24
Azle will launch its annual Music in the Park summer concert series with Azle High School’s Jazz Band from 8-10 p.m. Friday, April 24.
As the pre-kickoff event to the concert series, students will showcase selections of classic jazz, helping set the stage for an exciting season of live music in the park.
Come enjoy the music and food trucks while supporting the community through music!
Urban Cowboy Night kicks off April 25
The FeedLot is gearing up for season three, with an Urban Cowboy Night kickoff from 5-9 p.m. Saturday, April 25 at 225 Church St.
This free event will feature live music, food trucks, a mechanical bull and more.
RSVP to the Facebook event and get ready to enjoy a night of country fun for the whole family.
CCC food drive meets jiu jitsu April 25
Rise and Clean is partnering with Genesis Jiu Jitsu to host an open mat food drive event for the Community Caring Center at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 25 at 13551 S. Farm-to-Market Road 730.
An open mat means everyone is free to hang out and stretch, spar or just watch some jiu jitsu. To help support CCC, both businesses invite the public to bring donations so they can help feed the community, meet new people and check out some jiu jitsu all at the same time.
Tour AJH campus one last time April 27
The community is invited to join the Azle Independent School District for a walk down memory lane at Azle Junior High, 201 School St., from 5-6:30 p.m. Monday, April 27.
After 73 years, the original campus will soon be replaced with a new sixth- through eighth-grade campus, utilizing the two existing gyms.
To honor its legacy, the building will be open to the public for anyone who would like to walk the halls of AJH one last time.
Muir’s retirement reception set May 1
Stop by the Azle Memorial Library, 333 W. Main St., from 2-5 p.m. Friday, May 1, to wish Azle City Manager Tom Muir well during his come-and-go retirement reception.
Muir, who has served as Azle’s city manager for a total of 10 years, announced his upcoming retirement Jan. 8, with the intention of spending some quality time with his grandchildren.
The public is invited to come and support Muir to honor his decade of service to the city.
Talking Tombstone Tour set May 2
Residents of Azle, Springtown and the surrounding communities are invited to step into the past during the annual Talking Tombstone Tour Saturday, May 2, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the historic City Greenwood Cemetery, 400 Front St., in Weatherford.
Presented by the Parker County Heritage Society, this one-of-a-kind event transforms local history into a live experience, as costumed interpreters portray pioneers, veterans, civic leaders and early settlers whose lives helped shape Parker County and the surrounding region.
Admission is $20 for adults and $10 for children ages 9 and under. Tickets may be purchased at the event by way of cash or check.
Join in on National Day of Prayer May 7
The Azle community and surrounding areas are invited to participate in a National Day of Prayer celebration Thursday, May 7, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Orchard Event Venue & Retreat, 1421 Northwest Parkway.
Hosted by the Azle Area Ministerial Alliance, this free Christian community event will feature prayers for the community, a special performance from the Azle High School Chorale and a free boxed lunch from Jason’s Deli.
Come join the community to receive an uplifting message in prayer and unite together in Christ.

Azle Manor Healthcare & Rehabilitation will host a Las Vegas-themed game night from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Friday, May 8.

Chamber hosts golf tournament May 15
The Azle Area Chamber of Commerce will take a swing at its 21st annual golf tournament from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, May 15 at Cross Timbers Golf Course, 1181 S. Stewart St.
Team registration for chamber members is $500 and $550 for nonchamber members. The deadline to register is Friday, May 1.
Main Street FAM Festival May 30
MASTERpiece Paint Party & ART Studio is hosting its FAM (Faith + Art + Music) Festival from noon-4 p.m. Saturday, May 30 at shops on Main Street.
The studio is in search of artwork under the theme of “Hope” to be displayed and auctioned at the event, as well as singers and bands to participate.
All the proceeds will be supporting two nonprofits in the community, including the Future, Hope & Healing Center and P. R.A.I.S.E Worship, so come out and have a great time while supporting a good cause.

Chamber fundraiser raffle due July 7
The Azle Area Chamber of Commerce has set up a new fundraiser for its new building on Main Street: a raffle giveaway.
Raffle items include a custom-fit Titleist or Calloway golf set, a Browning Citori CX Micro 12-gauge shotgun and a two-day Fredericksburg giveaway.
Tickets are $25 each or five for $100 and must be purchased in person from a chamber representative. Tickets will be sold through July 6, with the final drawing taking place July 7 at the chamber luncheon.
