The Azle High School football program wrapped up its second week of spring practice with a scrimmage Friday morning, April 24, marking another step forward under first-year head coach Wilson Rigg.
Spring workouts began April 13 and will continue through the team’s spring game scheduled for Saturday, May 8. For Rigg, who was hired in January, the practices represent his first opportunity to implement his system and establish the program’s identity.
For a new head coach, spring football serves as more than just preparation for the fall. It provides a critical window to install schemes, evaluate talent and build relationships within the program.
