“Chief Hall, thank you for everything you’ve given, for who you are and for the legacy you leave behind. On behalf of dispatch and the entire department, you will be missed. You’re officially 10-42.”

When those words echoed over police dispatch, there was not a dry eye at Azle City Hall April 15, as the end-of-watch call marked the final sign-off for Azle Police Chief Ben Hall.

Hall — who served as chief for the last four years — has now officially hung up his badge with the Azle Police Department to assume a new role as a field service agent with the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement.
