The Azle High School Lady Hornets saw their 2026 softball season come to an end in a best-of-three bidistrict playoff series against Argyle at Northwest High School.

Argyle claimed the series in two games, beginning with a narrow 4-3 win in Game 1 Thursday, April 23. Azle struck first with a run in the top of the second inning but could not hold the lead as the Lady Eagles rallied late.

Freshman pitcher Adalyn Kripner turned in a strong performance, going six innings while allowing four hits and four runs and striking out 10. Offensively, Azle totaled seven hits, including three triples. Maddison Holleman went 2-for-2 with a triple and scored twice, while Kripner added two hits of her own, including a triple. Ryleigh Myers also recorded a triple.
