BASEBALL

The Hornet varsity baseball team ended its 2026 season against district rival Aledo. On Tuesday April 21, the Hornets lost a close decision to the Bearcats 3-2. Martin Balderas pitched five and one-third innings, giving up four hits and two earned runs with Seth Webb pitching in relief. Wyatt Hicks had two hits and Garin Bissonnette and Tyler Couch had one hit each.

The Hornet varsity hosted its Teacher Appreciation Night Friday, April 24 at Jim Bob Nation’s Field of Dreams. The Aledo Bearcats unfortunately ruined teacher night with an 18-5 victory over the Hornets. The Hornets finished the season in fifth place with an overall record of 17-14. This was Azle baseball’s ninth straight winning season.

JV Green finished second in district with a record of 21-5.

JV White placed third in district with a 15-5 overall record. The overall record for the Azle baseball program in 2026 was 53-24.
