Three hundred people of various faiths and all walks of life converged on The Orchard Event Venue & Retreat Thursday, May 7 to join tens of thousands across America in observance of the National Day of Prayer.

The event is hosted each year by the Azle Area Ministerial Alliance, with funds donated by business and individual sponsors. The Orchard graciously donates its beautiful space for the event.

The National Day of Prayer was established by Congress in 1952 and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman. It is held the first Thursday of May each year to encourage public prayer and meditation. This year’s national theme is “Glorify God among the nations — seeking him in all generations,” based on 1 Chronicles 16:24.
