The volleyball courts looked a little different Friday, May 8, as the grass fields just north of Azle High School were transformed into a sea of nets, teams and spectators for the 2026 Azle Volleyball Grass Bash fundraiser.
The annual event, now in its eighth year, continues to grow into one of the largest community-driven offseason events for the Lady Hornet volleyball program. According to Azle head volleyball coach Kenley Buckholt, 60 teams registered to compete in this year’s tournament.
Held on the grass fields across from the competition gym and portable buildings at AHS, the event featured two open divisions along with a club division, allowing players of multiple age groups and skill levels to participate throughout the day.
