Reclaiming battlefields

For years my two brothers have given me books for my birthday. Their choices have often matched whatever phase I was going through at the time. There was my ancient literature phase, my classics phase, my spy novel phase, my legal thriller phase and several others along the way. During my time at seminary, they gave me historical theology books I had requested.

Lately, though, we have entered a different phase. We now tend to give each other books that have impacted us personally.

One such book given to me some time ago by my older brother, Steve, was “Beneath a Scarlet Sky” by Mark Sullivan, a novel my brother Tim had also read.
