What started as a new challenge during her sophomore year has turned into a collegiate opportunity for Azle High School swimmer Kayley Brekel.
Brekel recently signed to continue her swimming career at Midland University in Fremont, Nebraska. Midland competes in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics as a member of the Great Plains Athletic Conference.
Brekel’s journey to the college level is unique because she entered the sport later than many swimmers, beginning her career as a sophomore with no previous swimming experience.
