CCC hosts open house May 27

The Community Caring Center invites the public to celebrate its newly renovated facility with a ribbon cutting and open house from 4 p.m.-6 p.m. Wednesday, May 27.

The event will take place at the center located at 317 Commerce St. and will begin with the ribbon cutting followed by opportunities for the public to tour the newly facility, meet the team, and learn about how the nonprofit is working to serve those in need.

Reputation descends on MIP May 29

Swifties, get ready! Reputation is bringing an unforgettable night of music, energy and all your favorite Taylor Swift hits to Music in the Park from 8-10 p.m. Friday, May 29 at the Central Park amphitheater, 263 W. Main St.

From fan-favorite anthems to the songs everyone knows by heart, the tribute show will be full of excitement, sing-along moments, and fun for all ages.

Music in the Park offers free concerts every Friday night in May and June from 8-10 p.m. at Central Park.

Azle ISD surplus sale set May 29-30

Azle ISD is hosting a Community Surplus Sale Friday May 29 from noon to 4 p.m. and Saturday May 30 from 8 a.m. to noon at Azle Junior High, located at 201 School St.

Items on sale will be from the historic Azle Junior High. Items include chair, desks, lockers, library furniture, doors, shop tables, rolling carts and many more. Sales will be cash only.

Main Street FAM Festival due May 30

MASTERpiece Paint Party & ART Studio will host its FAM (Faith + Art + Music) Festival from noon-4 p.m. Saturday, May 30 in various shops on Main Street.

The studio is in search of artwork under the theme of “Hope” to be displayed and auctioned at the event, as well as singers and bands to participate.

All proceeds will be used to support two nonprofits in the community, including the Future, Hope & Healing Center and P. R.A.I.S.E Worship, so come out and have a great time while supporting a good cause.

AAMA hosts blood drive June 1

The Azle Area Ministerial Alliance, in partnership with Carter BloodCare, will host a blood drive from 3:30-6:30 p.m. Monday, June 1, in the gym at First United Methodist Church of Azle, 200 Church St.

Vacation Bible School starts June 1

Ash Creek Baptist Church welcomes all children entering kindergarten through sixth grade to its Vacation Bible School from 9 a.m.-noon Monday through Friday, June 1-5.

Join in on this fun learning experience, with the theme “Illumination Station” shining a light on who Jesus really is.

Bid farewell to Susie Hiles June 12

The city of Azle will host a come-and-go retirement reception for Susie Hiles, longtime executive assistant to the city manager, from 2-5 p.m. Friday, June 12 at Azle City Hall, 505 W. Main St.

Hiles has devotedly served the citizens of Azle for more than 26 years. The public is invited to wish her a fond farewell as she begins the next chapter of her life.

Longest Day Carnival set June 19

Legacy Oaks of Azle is hosting its Longest Day Carnival from 4 to 7 p.m., Thursday June 19, at its location, 1364 Southeast Parkway in Azle, benefiting the Alzheimer’s Association.

Local businesses and community members are invited to take part by sponsoring the event, donating prizes or supplies, or hosting a carnival booth or activity.

Senior center celebrates 40 years June 24

The Azle Senior Activity Center will celebrate its 40th year in the community from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday, June 24 at the center, located 601 Southeast Parkway in Azle.

Azle Lions Club Car Show due June 27

The Azle Lions Club is hosting its car show Saturday June 27 celebrating America 250th anniversary starting at 9 a.m., at 404 W. Main St. in Azle.

Entry fee is $25, and event will begin with registration from 9 to 11 a.m. 25 awards will be presented starting at 1 p.m. Raffles and drawings will also take place.

Chamber fundraiser raffle due July 7

The Azle Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting a raffle to raise funds for a new building it plans to construct on Main Street.

Raffle items include a custom-fit Titleist or Calloway golf set, a Browning Citori CX Micro 12-gauge shotgun and a two-day Fredericksburg getaway.

Tickets are $25 each or five for $100 and must be purchased in person from a chamber representative. Tickets will be sold through July 6, with the final drawing taking place July 7 at the chamber luncheon.

EMPHC Coffee Hour set July 16

Eagle Mountain Pregnancy Help Center will host a Coffee Hour for ministry and community leaders July 16 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at 10328 Jacksboro Highway in Fort Worth.

The event will allow attendees to meet with staff and board members while learning more about the organization’s outreach and services.
