Family, friends honor Schwantz’s legacy with memorial stone

Friends and family released blue balloons into the sky May 23 in honor of Jack Schwantz, whose favorite color was blue.

Family and friends gathered behind the home side concessions stand at Hornet Stadium Saturday, May 23 to place a memorial stone honoring the late Jack Schwantz.

Caleb Mark Jackson “Jack” Schwantz, 18, died alongside his father, Charles “Malcom” Schwantz, 55, in a single-engine plane crash near Azle Aug. 21, 2021.

Attendees gathered in the home side bleachers after the memorial stone was placed for a prayer and remarks honoring Schwantz’s life. The ceremony concluded with the release of blue balloons in honor of Schwantz, whose favorite color was blue.
