The summer work officially begins Monday, June 1, as Azle ISD launches its annual Hornet Elite and Hornet Ready strength and conditioning camps, programs that have become a major part of the district’s athletic culture.
Azle ISD strength and conditioning coordinator Matt Holt said between 700 and 800 student-athletes are expected to participate throughout the summer.
“We’re expecting about 400 high school kids, 200 junior high kids and around 200 elementary kids,” Holt said.
