Members of the Azle High School Rodeo Team wrapped up their 2025-26 season at the North Texas High School Rodeo Association Finals held May 29-30 at the historic Cowtown Coliseum, competing for year-end championships, scholarships, prizes and coveted berths to the Texas High School Rodeo Association State Finals.

The NTHSRA Finals featured the top-ranked contestants from throughout North Texas, representing more than 300 student-athletes from over 95 schools. Competitors battled for more than $60,000 in awards and payouts while seeking qualifications to the THSRA State Finals scheduled for June 4-13 in Abilene.

Azle's biggest highlight came in the bull riding arena where Mason Heavener delivered a strong performance throughout the rodeo, and he won the bulls for the year. Heavener led the event after the first go-round and ultimately claimed the title.
