Azle High School graduate and longtime assistant coach Barret Ball has been named the new head boys basketball coach at Paradise High School.

Ball inherits one of the state's premier Class 3A programs after the Panthers captured the UIL Class 3A Division II state championship in 2026. He replaces Bo Rickner, who recently left Paradise to accept the head coaching position at Graford.

Paradise athletic director and head football coach Joe Koch expressed enthusiasm about Ball joining the Panthers' athletic department.
