Azle High School's football program has added another key piece to head coach Wilson Rigg's staff with the hiring of Zach Ross as the Hornets' new offensive coordinator.
Ross comes to Azle from Prosper Walnut Grove High School, where he served as running back coach and special teams coordinator. He now takes over an offense that returns several experienced playmakers and will implement a system rooted in the famed Air Raid philosophy.
"We're going to run the Texas Tech, Mike Leach Air Raid offense," Ross said. "We're going to get the ball out fast, hit a lot of different receivers, and we'll have a good running game as well. We run up tempo, and our goal is to get the ball in the hands of our best players."
