Christopher Reeves was killed Sept. 11, 2005, at the age of 16 when the car he was a backseat passenger in struck an I-beam protruding into the main lanes of State Highway 199 in La Junta.

Almost 21 years later, Reeves’ mom, Debbie, has been reunited with Reeves’ son, Chris Jr., and wants his friends to have the opportunity to meet him, as well. The invitation is extended to Reeves’ classmates as well as police officers, firefighters and teachers who remember her son.

Friends are invited to gather at Shady Grove Park near the picnic tables from 6-9 p.m. Friday, June 19 to share memories and get to know Reeves’ son — now 20 years old.
