Hornet Ready camp helps young athletes build foundations for future
Azle ISD Hornet Ready camp kicked off Monday, June 8 and will run through the summer.

More than 140 elementary students are spending part of their summer preparing for future athletic opportunities through Azle ISD's Hornet Ready strength and conditioning camp.

The camp, which began June 8, is designed for students entering third through sixth grades and introduces them to the fundamentals of strength and conditioning before they reach junior high athletics.

According to Azle ISD elementary physical education coach Trey Shaw, approximately 80 fifth- and sixth-grade students are participating in the Hornet Ready program, along with more than 60 third- and fourth-grade students.
