A special Parker County Commissioner’s Court meeting was held Tuesday, June 9 during which commissioners unanimously approved a resolution formally opposing large-scale data center developments and called for state safeguards to protect local resources and taxpayers.

The resolution, read by Parker County Judge Pat Deen, states the court:

“… formally expresses opposition to the use of open loop evaporative cooling systems or other high volume portable water consumption technologies in large scale data center facilities within Parker County and other water constrained regions. The court further opposes any data center development that fails to incorporate adequate safeguards to protect county resources and existing residents.”
