The Vine Project is a nonprofit organization founded in November 2025 and officially launched in February 2026 by Michelle McKiddy. After conducting a needs assessment to identify problems faced by people in North Texas, McKiddy says the results revealed that many young adults between the ages of 16 and 24 were struggling with the transition into adulthood due to barriers that limited access to important resources.

Recognizing these challenges, McKiddy decided to focus her efforts on supporting this age group and established The Vine Project to help address their needs. To put her mission into action, the organization launched VineRoots, The Vine Project’s pilot program for teens and young adults.

VineRoots is designed for teens and young adults 16 to 24 years old who are navigating housing instability, system involvement or major life transitions.
