The sounds of faith, freedom and community rang out when Ash Creek Baptist Church hosted its America 250 Community Celebration Sunday, June 28 at the church at 300 S. Stewart St.

A community band featuring the church’s praise band, strings, a choir made up of members of the Sanctuary Choir of Ash Creek Baptist Church, and several singers from the community performed the musical “In God We Trust” for the event. The musical was directed by J.K. Weger, minister of music and worship arts for Ash Creek Baptist Church.

The celebration included more than 10 patriotic songs, including “The Star-Spangled Banner,” “America the Beautiful” and “God Bless the U.S.A.”
