During the Rotary Club of Azle’s meeting July 2, Kobie Torgesen, president of Bridges, a club at Azle High School that partners with Good N.E.W.S. Living at Home Program, shared how the club builds friendships and connections between students and seniors with the slogan, “Bridging the Gap Between Generations.”

Bridges was created in 2023 by Torgesen’s sister, Addison. After the family moved back to Texas, Torgesen and his sister didn’t have much to do. One day Good N.E.W.S. Executive Director Terri Bartlett invited the siblings to have breakfast with the seniors on a Tuesday morning.

After Torgesen and his sister attended the breakfast, Torgesen said one of those early connections was with a senior named Vic.
