Former Azle High School standout Declan Dahl was selected by the Detroit Tigers in the fifth round of the 2026 Major League Baseball Draft. The right-handed pitcher was the 158th overall selection on Day 2 of the draft.
Dahl, a 2023 Azle graduate, was selected following a standout junior season at Louisiana Tech University.
During his career with the Hornets, Dahl earned First Team All-District and All-State honors before continuing his baseball career at Seminole State College in Oklahoma. During two seasons at Seminole State, he earned All-American honors before transferring to Louisiana Tech.
