A new Chick-fil-A restaurant will begin serving the Azle community as soon as 6 a.m. Thursday, July 30, at 417 Northwest Parkway — and the celebration will be spot on.
As part of its Moove-In Party, owner/operator Mike Tipton and his team invite the community to show their spots. Whether it’s a full cow suit or a simple cow-spotted accessory, anyone who visits the restaurant on opening day reppin’ cow attire can redeem one free entrée or a kid’s meal, either inside the restaurant or in the drive-thru.
Tipton, who has operated Chick-fil-A Lake Worth for the past two decades, said he looks forward to creating new opportunities at his new location and helping his team members grow personally and professionally.
“Azle is a close-knit community where people genuinely show up for one another, and it’s an honor to open the first Chick-fil-A restaurant here,” Tipton stated in a Chick-fil-A news release. “Our goal is for this restaurant to reflect exactly what makes this community special: a place where everyone feels welcomed and cared for, and where we can invest in our team members and the community we serve.”
Tipton first discovered Chick-fil-A while working at a summer camp, where he heard Chick-fil-A founder Truett Cathy speak about the company’s purpose of putting people first. With Truett’s remarks leaving a lasting impression — and with encouragement from a longtime friend who was also a Chick-fil-A owner/operator at the time — Tipton left his career with a Fortune 500 company and became the local owner/operator of Chick-fil-A Lake Worth in 2006.
Over the past 20 years, Tipton has mentored more than 1,000 team members, with many second-generation family members now serving on his team.
Tipton said he is committed to giving back to the Azle community by:
- Celebrating the opening with a $25,000 donation from Chick-fil-A, Inc. to support local hunger relief efforts of Tarrant Area Food Bank — a Feeding America partner food bank — in honor of the new restaurant.
- Participating in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table® program, which redirects surplus food to local nonprofits, helping to create more than 42 million meals nationwide to date.
- Creating approximately 95 jobs.
