While many educators unwind with a mystery or romance novel, Jessica Hanson relaxes by reading books about leadership — and it clearly shows.
Hanson — who has served as assistant superintendent for the Azle Independent School District since the fall of 2025 — spoke to the Rotary Club of Azle July 23 about the leadership philosophy that is currently shaping communication across the district.
From the beginning, Hanson said she has always felt a call to serve — whether as a teacher, principal and assistant superintendent, a volunteer at Merge Community Church’s youth camp or a wife and mother of three daughters.
