Before she became a familiar face in Azle, McLane spent her childhood moving frequently because her father was a pastor.

Born in Colorado Springs, she graduated from Mesquite High School in 2002. She attended Navarro College in Corsicana before transferring to the University of North Texas, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in social sciences in 2007.

McLane was first introduced to Azle while she was obtaining her master’s degree in library and information sciences at the University of North Texas. At the time she knew she wanted to work in public libraries and already had five years of experience working at the University of North Texas libraries.
