Volleyball camp prepares players for upcoming season
The Azle High School gym was packed with want-to-be volleyball players.

More than 100 future Lady Hornets sharpened their skills during the volleyball intermediate camp, held July 20-22 at the Azle High School gym.

Head volleyball coach Kenley Buckholt said 35 incoming freshmen attended the morning session, while approximately 78 incoming seventh- and eighth-grade students participated in the afternoon session.

The three-day camp focused on volleyball fundamentals and preparing players for upcoming school tryouts. Freshman tryouts begin Aug. 1, while junior high tryouts are scheduled for Aug. 17.
