Parker County indictments

A Parker County grand jury met July 23 in Weatherford to consider evidence in criminal cases presented by the Parker County District Attorney’s office. An indictment is a formal accusation and is not evidence of guilt. All defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

The grand jury handed down 47 indictments; among them were indictments against five Azle residents as well as two Springtown residents.

  • Sasha Marie Carter 50, of Azle, was indicted on one count of theft of property less than $2,500 with two or more previous convictions. The charge is a state jail felony.
  • David Wayne Conklin, 27, of Springtown, was indicted on one count of possession of a controlled substance in penalty 2, less than 1 gram. The charge is a state jail felony.
  • Anthony Lee Downs, 62, of Springtown, was indicted on one count of injury to a child, a third-degree felony.
  • John Derek Kemp, 43, of Azle, was indicted on one count of evading arrest or detention with a vehicle. The charge is a third-degree felony.
  • Trenton Alexander Kitch, 47, of Azle, was indicted on one count of manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance in penalty group 2 or 2A, 1-4 grams. The charge is a second-degree felony.
  • Cody Trey Lawrence, 50, of Azle, was indicted on one count of possession of a controlled substance in penalty group 2, 1-4 grams. The charge is a third-degree felony.
  • Mary Beth Williams, 47, of Azle, was indicted on two counts of manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance in penalty group 1, 4-200 grams. The charge is a first-degree felony.
