Families gathered at Azle Memorial Library to celebrate a summer of reading during the annual Library Reading Finale, where children enjoyed games, snow cones, and activities while making another year of record participation.
Children who completed at least five hours of reading earned admission to the finale, which featured Kona Ice, giant bubbles with Mr. Bubbles, the BFF Mobile Petting Zoo, and visits from local first responders.
The Summer Reading program attracted 2,093 participants this year. Adult Services Librarian Rebecca Buchanan said 668 adults, 267 teens, 993 children, and 225 littles registered, with every age group showing an increase over last year.
