Sexton’s comeback leads to Division II baseball

Former Hornet overcomes injury, earns All-America honors
Sexton’s comeback leads to Division II baseball
2023 Azle High School graduate Cooper Sexton recovers from major arm surgery to pitch again at the Division II level.

A serious elbow injury wiped out Cooper Sexton’s senior baseball season at Azle High School, but it did not end his baseball career.

Sexton, a 2023 AHS graduate, suffered the injury during the Hornets’ first scrimmage of his senior season and underwent Tommy John surgery. Instead of taking the mound for the Hornets, Sexton spent his senior year rehabilitating his arm and working toward getting back on the field.

The setback did not keep him from pursuing college baseball.
