The Azle High School tennis team opened its season with two convincing victories and a narrow loss on a three-match trip to San Antonio July 31 and Aug. 1.
AHS began the season July 31 with a dominant 18-1 victory over Northside Marshall. The Hornets controlled the match from the beginning, receiving contributions throughout their singles and doubles lineups.
The decisive victory allowed head coach Connor Mason and assistant coach Jared Ewing to evaluate Azle’s lineup in competition while giving the players an opportunity to develop chemistry early in the season.
