The parking lot of the Industrial Avenue shopping center — home to Dollar General, Sutton Printing and Palm Primary Care — will soon be a lot less bumpy.

On Aug. 4, Azle City Council voted unanimously to approve a $10,000 Façade and Signage Improvement Program grant request for parking lot repairs and resurfacing at the multi-tenant building and shopping center located at 117-141 Industrial Ave.

The FSIP program was created in 2016 as an opportunity for business property owners or tenants in Azle to restore their exterior signage, awnings, lighting or commercial building façade. The program was updated in 2020 to include two different types of grants: General Project and Signage Project. The FSIP provides a 50% General Project matching grant of up to $10,000 for the funding of well-designed improvements.
