Azle High School students had just completed a planned evacuation drill Tuesday, Aug. 18, when the practice became reality.
Shortly after the drill ended, an odor of natural gas in the culinary department prompted a second evacuation of the school. Students and staff again exited the building as a precaution while the situation was investigated.
After the building was checked, the Azle Fire Department gave the all-clear, allowing students and staff to return to the school and resume classes.
