Azle residents sound off on proposed tax rate, budget

COUNCIL ADOPTS BUDGET, TAX RATE

The Azle City Council approved the fiscal year 2026-27 budget of approximately $40.07 million and adopted a property tax rate of $0.674703 per $100 of taxable value during a special meeting Aug. 24. The adopted de minimis rate is slightly lower than the previously proposed $0.6756 rate because of a correction made by the Tarrant Appraisal District. The adopted tax rate is expected to generate $784,656 more in property tax revenue than last year.
