The early bird gets the worm, but contractors with Madewell Construction may be taking that advice a little too literally.
After missing the original window for an overnight concrete pour at 501 Redbud Drive, the contractor building the 15,134-square-foot Crash Champions Collision Repair facility returned to Azle City Council Aug. 18 to request another middle-of-the-night opportunity — this time at 1 a.m.
On July 21, the contractor requested a one-time exception to the city’s permitted summer construction hours of 6 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. to allow crews to begin pouring the facility’s foundation slab on a preapproved date at 2 a.m., citing concerns about heat and traffic.
