Cross Timbers Elementary was briefly evacuated shortly after 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25 after smoke was reported in the cafeteria.
Azle firefighters and several neighboring departments responded and investigated before the scene was cleared.
School officials said the smoke came from a Freon line on a rooftop air conditioning unit and that repairs are being made.
Students were allowed to return inside and lunch resumed at 11:20 a.m.
