What if nobody told you it was impossible?

A few months ago, I listened to a sermon during which Chris Freeland, senior pastor of Doxology Bible Church in Fort Worth, told the story of a graduate student named George.

Arriving late to his statistics class at the University of California, Berkeley, George hurried into the room and, seeing two problems on the blackboard, quickly copied them down as what he presumed was his homework.

Prior to George’s late arrival, his professor, renowned statistician Jerzy Neyman, had written two unsolved problems in statistics on the blackboard. They were certainly not homework assignments.
