The Azle Christian School Fighting Crusaders defeated Stephenville FAITH 49-0 Friday, Aug. 28 at home.
The Crusaders built a 14-point lead by halftime before breaking the game open with 35 points in the third quarter. The 49-point margin ended the game in the second half under the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools six-man football rule that ends a contest immediately when one team takes a lead of 45 points or more after halftime.
The victory gave ACS a 1-0 start to the season. Seniors Grayson Smith and Nehemiah “Nemo” Crowell helped lead the Crusaders as ACS pulled away after a slower offensive start.
