What is your name and grade?
“My name is Auston Morgan and I am a junior.”
How long have you played football?
“I have played football for four years. I started playing in seventh grade when I moved to Azle from North Carolina.”
Do you have any pets?
“I have two dogs.”
Do you have a shout out to anyone?
“I would like to shout out my parents for always pushing me and allowing me to pursue my dreams of playing at the next level.”
What is your favorite class in school?
“My favorite class in school is my PALs class because I have lots of friends in that class and I’m excited to be able to go out and help kids.”
Michael or LeBron?
“Michael because he has a winning mentality and is very mentally tough.”
Do you have a pregame routine or superstition you must do before a game?
“I usually just do a quick arm warmup to make sure I’m ready to throw.”
What advice would you give younger athletes?
“Just focus on getting 1% better every day and control what you can control. You can control your effort and attitude so make sure you have good effort and attitude.’”
Why is football your favorite sport?
“Football is my favorite sport because it allows me to use my God-given talents. I love the complexity of having to diagnose a defense, the hours of film watching to prepare for a team and then being able to know what the other team will do before they do it is a very satisfying feeling. I also love the aspect of it being a team sport and everyone having to do their job for things to go smoothly.”
Tell me about life after high school.”
“Of course, the goal is to play at the next level, preferably D1, and then go from there. However, if that’s not what is in store for me, I am a very hands-on person and would love to work in construction or get an engineering degree.”
