Eagle Mountain Lake residents may not be able to get their boats on the water, but that didn’t stop them from rocking the boat during a recent meeting with the Tarrant Regional Water District.
On Sept. 1, state Sen. Taylor Rehmet, who represents District 9, scheduled his office “pop-up” hours at the Azle Memorial Library to allow EML property owners to voice concerns regarding low lake levels.
Residents first began to speak up earlier this summer when a temporary raw water supply agreement was made between TRWD and BKV Corporation, a private oil and gas company. The agreement — effective from July 13 to Aug. 31 — authorized BKV to withdraw up to 32.7 million gallons from EML.
