Family and friends of Jesse Martin Sr. are coming together to honor his memory and support his wife, Alina Martin, and their family following his recent death.
Martin and his family were involved in a vehicle crash July 28 that left him with life-threatening injuries. After spending several weeks in an intensive care unit, Martin died Aug. 19.
A benefit honoring and supporting the Martin family will begin at noon Saturday, Sept. 26, at Lynn’s Saloon, 1037 Southeast Parkway in Azle, a place Martin regularly visited.
The fundraiser will include food plates for $10 each, a silent auction, a dunk tank and a bake sale. All proceeds from the event, including bartender tips, will go directly to the Martin family to help with funeral arrangements, living expenses and support for Martin’s children.
The family has expressed gratitude for prayers, donations and kindness from the community as they grieve and remember Martin.
“While Jesse’s wife and family take the time they need to grieve privately and process this tremendous loss, we are incredibly grateful for the love and support being shown to them,” said Sara Green on behalf of the Martin family.
“From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing alongside Jesse’s family and honoring his memory through your kindness and compassion.”
