For many families, buckling a child into a car is part of the daily routine. But knowing whether a car seat is installed correctly or is being used properly can be a different story.
About 46% of child safety seats are installed or used incorrectly, according to federal safety data, reducing the protection they can provide in a crash.
In an effort to help local families avoid these mistakes, the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Passenger Safety & KidSafe Initiative hosted a free car seat and booster seat inspection from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1 at the Azle Fire Department.
