Parker County indictments

A Parker County grand jury met Sept. 3 in Weatherford to consider evidence in criminal cases presented by the Parker County District Attorney’s Office. Among the 43 indictments handed down were those against six Azle area residents, three Springtown area residents and a Poolville area resident.

An indictment is a formal accusation and is not evidence of guilt. All defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

• James Douglas Bays, 63, of Azle, was indicted on a charge of manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance in penalty group 1-B, 4 to 200 grams. The charge is a first-degree felony.
• Travis Truman McBride, 38, of Springtown, was indicted on a charge of burglary of a building. The charge is a state jail felony.
• Nolan Michael Poteete, 21, of Azle, was indicted on a charge of prohibited substance or item in a correctional facility. The charge is a third-degree felony.
• Mason Rene Turner, 31, of Springtown, was indicted on a charge of unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon. The charge is a third-degree felony.
• Charles Tod Brooks, 61, of Azle, was indicted on a charge of murder. The charge is a first-degree felony.
• Jeffrey Colt Freeman-McConnell, 17, of Poolville, was indicted on a charge of terroristic threat to impair public service or public fear, serious bodily injury. The charge is a third-degree felony.
• Toby Theodore Houchin, 47, of Azle, was indicted on a charge of possession of a controlled substance in penalty group 2, 1 to 4 grams. The charge is a third-degree felony.
• Dennis Ryan Maley, 47, of Azle, was indicted on a charge of failure to comply with sex offender duty to register, life/annual. The charge is a third-degree felony.
• Jayden Anthony Thompson, 21, of Azle, was indicted on a charge of continuous violence against the family. The charge is a third-degree felony.
• Kennady Rachelle Mary Wagner, 29, of Springtown, was indicted on a charge of burglary of a building. The charge is a state jail felony.
• Robert William Sandidge, 57, of Azle, was indicted on a charge of possession of a controlled substance in penalty group 1 or 1-B, less than 1 gram. The charge is a state jail felony.
